1X Unveils Neo Gamma Humanoid Robot for Home Use
Norwegian robotics company 1X has introduced its latest humanoid robot, Neo Gamma, designed specifically for home use. This new model follows the Neo Beta, which was launched in August, and is currently in the prototype stage for in-home testing. The Neo Gamma is equipped to perform various household tasks such as making coffee, doing laundry, and vacuuming.
The Neo Gamma features a bipedal design and a softer, more welcoming appearance, with a suit made of knitted nylon to minimize potential injuries from human contact. This design choice highlights 1X's focus on creating a robot that is both functional and safe for home environments.
1X emphasizes the importance of advanced AI systems in the Neo Gamma, which enhance the robot's ability to navigate and interact safely within a home setting. The company also highlights the role of teleoperation, allowing humans to take control of the robot when necessary, as a key safety feature.
The introduction of Neo Gamma marks a significant step for 1X in the home robotics market, setting it apart from competitors who have primarily focused on industrial applications. The company has not disclosed the number of units produced but has released product videos showcasing the robot's capabilities in a home environment.
