AbbVie and Valkai announce a collaboration to apply AI in selected areas of clinical development, according to a press release from AbbVie.

AbbVie will deploy Valkai's purpose built AI tools to automate manual clinical research processes and generate insights more quickly. The companies said the tools could help shorten drug development timelines and give research teams more time for scientific interpretation, clinical strategy, and decision making.

The collaboration is part of the AI@AbbVie initiative, which applies AI across research, development, operations, and other business functions. AbbVie said its use of the technology will include human expertise, governance, and ethical controls.
