AIAS+ 2026 Sets San Francisco Science and AI Program

The Chen Institute will hold AIAS+ 2026 in San Francisco from November 5 to 7, with sessions on the use of AI in scientific research.

Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute will hold AIAS+ 2026 in San Francisco from November 5 to 7, the organization announced in a press release. The three day symposium will examine how AI supports hypothesis generation, pattern identification, testing and evidence evaluation across scientific fields.

Speakers will include 2026 Nobel laureate Karl Deisseroth, mathematician Terence Tao, computer scientist Jeffrey Ullman, molecular biologist Zhijian Chen, AI researcher Yejin Choi and insitro founder Daphne Koller. The program will include lectures, panel discussions and workshops covering mathematics, mental health, neuroscience, semiconductors and computer science.

The event will also host the 2026 Chen Institute and Science Prize for AI Accelerated Research. The prize will recognize UC Davis researcher Sergey Stavisky for work on brain computer interfaces that translate neural activity into synthetic speech modeled on a participant's voice.
