Airbility Raises $4.7 Million for AI Counter Drone Aircraft

Airbility raised $4.7 million in Series A funding led by Sazze Partners, bringing its total funding to $7.6 million. The company plans to use the funding for counter drone eVTOL aircraft and production capacity.

South Korean aerospace and defense company Airbility has raised $4.7 million in Series A funding led by Sazze Partners, bringing total funding to $7.6 million, the company said in a press release. Stonebridge Ventures joined with a follow on investment, and Industrial Bank of Korea became a new shareholder.

Airbility said it will use the funding to commercialize its counter drone eVTOL aircraft portfolio and build production capacity. Its systems combine airborne interceptors, onboard autonomy, and external sensing assets.

The portfolio includes the AB-U10, a net gun equipped interceptor designed for speeds of about 180 kilometers per hour, and the AB-U60 mothership platform. Airbility is also developing the AB-U2 compact kinetic interceptor and the AB-U4L fixed wing launcher deployed interceptor, designed for speeds of about 300 kilometers per hour.

The company plans to commercialize the AB-U10 by the end of 2026, followed by the AB-U2 and AB-U4L in the first half of 2027. The AB-U60 is targeted for launch in 2027.
