Amazon to Build $3 Billion Data Center Campus in Mississippi
Amazon announced plans in a press release to invest at least $3 billion in Warren County, Mississippi, to build a new data center campus supporting artificial intelligence and cloud computing technologies. The project will create around 200 direct jobs and more than 300 additional community positions, marking the largest private investment in the county’s history.
Construction is set to begin in 2026, according to state officials. The data center will be powered by Entergy Mississippi and will use custom-designed chips, servers, and network infrastructure to expand the company’s AI capacity in the region.
The facility will also launch a $150,000 Warren County Community Fund to support local initiatives focused on STEM education, digital skills, and sustainability. Governor Tate Reeves described the project as a major milestone for Mississippi’s growing technology sector.
The investment follows Amazon’s $10 billion commitment in 2024 to develop two data center campuses in Madison County, further strengthening its presence in the state’s emerging data infrastructure landscape.
