Ant Digital Says Banks Want Agent Factories, Not Standalone AI Tools

Oct 16, 2026
Ant Digital Technologies says banks are shifting their AI spending toward systems that can generate revenue and deploy agents across multiple roles. Poor data quality remains a major barrier to using smaller, less costly models.

Ant Digital Technologies says banks are moving beyond standalone AI tools and seeking systems that can deploy agents across several business functions, Fintech News Singapore reports. Since early 2026, bank executives have focused more on revenue and returns from AI spending than on efficiency alone.

The company introduced its Commercial Agent Super Factory at WAIC 2026. Its Agentar 2.0 platform includes nearly 200 templates for specific roles and hundreds of skill modules that banks can combine for underwriting, identity checks, fraud detection and other tasks.

Ant Digital identifies data quality as a major barrier to deployment. Banks with poorly structured data may need larger and more expensive models, while organized data can support smaller models suited to specific tasks. The company also says business teams need to oversee projects alongside technology departments.

GCash uses Ant Digital's ZOLOZ technology for remote identity verification in the Philippines. The system recognizes a wide range of identity documents and combines document checks with biometric recognition. GCash upgraded the deployment in 2026 with stronger deepfake defenses and changes intended to help more legitimate applicants complete onboarding.
