Anthropic Signs 1.8 Billion Dollar Cloud Deal with Akamai
Anthropic has signed a seven-year cloud computing agreement worth 1.8 billion dollars with Akamai Technologies, according to Bloomberg. The deal aims to meet rising demand for Anthropic’s artificial intelligence software and Claude services.
Akamai described the contract as its largest to date. The company had disclosed a long-term deal with a leading frontier model provider in its earnings statement but did not initially name Anthropic. Both companies declined to comment further on the agreement.
The partnership follows a series of infrastructure expansions by Anthropic in 2026, including agreements with SpaceX for access to additional computing resources and a major commitment with Google Cloud. Akamai, traditionally focused on content delivery and cybersecurity, has been extending its presence in cloud computing to support large-scale AI workloads.
