Anthropic will open an office at Raffles Place in Singapore in October, The Straits Times reports. The company plans to hire for a range of roles at the new location.

The Singapore office will be Anthropic's fifth in the Asia Pacific region, joining locations in Tokyo, Bengaluru, Seoul and Sydney. Dale Finlay has joined Anthropic as general manager for ASEAN and will be based in Singapore.

Singapore ranks second among 121 countries for Claude.ai usage relative to population, according to Anthropic's latest Economic Index. Usage is 5.81 times higher than expected based on the country's population.
