Enterprise spending on large language models has surged to $8.4 billion, with Anthropic surpassing OpenAI as the market leader, according to a Menlo Ventures report.

Anthropic has overtaken OpenAI as the leader in the enterprise large language model (LLM) market, according to a recent report by Menlo Ventures. The report highlights that enterprise spending on LLMs has more than doubled in six months, reaching $8.4 billion.

Anthropic now holds a 32% market share, surpassing OpenAI, whose share has dropped to 25% from 50% in 2023. Google's Gemini models have also gained traction, securing 20% of the market. The report notes that inference has become the primary workload, with a significant shift from training.

The Menlo Ventures report also indicates that closed-source models dominate the market, powering 87% of enterprise workloads. The report predicts that long-horizon agents will drive the next major evolution in enterprise AI, with startups building agentic infrastructure poised to lead the next wave of AI transformation.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
