Applied Optoelectronics Shows AI Network Tools and 25G Optics at SCTE TechExpo
Applied Optoelectronics is showing its QuantumWave 25G Tunable SFP, Quantum18 amplifiers and new QuantumLink software capabilities at SCTE TechExpo 2026 in Atlanta, the company said in a press release. The event runs from September 29 to October 2.
QuantumLink Central uses AI for self optimization, automated impairment detection and localization, network and device health monitoring, and predictive maintenance. The company is also demonstrating downstream operation at 3.0 GHz over a coaxial network using a concept amplifier, SC QAM channels, OFDM channels and a DOCSIS signal generator.
The QuantumWave module supports 10G and 25G operation across 48 DWDM channels. It has a stated reach of up to 40 km at 25G and 80 km at 10G, supports outside plant operation and consumes less than 4.5W.
Applied Optoelectronics is also marking the shipment of its one millionth 1.8 GHz amplifier. Its booth includes a working gold Quantum 18 HGD amplifier display representing the milestone.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
