Artimus Robotics Secures £1.5M ARIA Award for Robotic Hardware Development
Artimus Robotics has been awarded £1.5 million by the UK's Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA) to advance its soft actuation technology, announced in a press release. This funding is part of ARIA's £57 million Robot Dexterity programme.
The project, led by Artimus Chief Research Officer Dr. Nicholas Kellaris, aims to improve the performance of their actuator technology through innovations in materials and fabrication. The company will collaborate with Dr. Efi Psomopoulou at the University of Bristol to integrate this technology into robotic manipulators.
Artimus Robotics, known for its Hydraulically Amplified Self-Healing Electrostatic (HASEL) artificial muscles, seeks to create cost-effective, dexterous manipulators with high strength, speed, and adaptability. The funding will support the development of these technologies, potentially transforming robotic manipulation across various markets.
