Avatar Medical's brAIn SPS Gains FDA Clearance for Shoulder Surgery
Avatar Medical has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its brAIn SPS, a shoulder positioning system developed in collaboration with FX Shoulder Solutions. Announced in a press release, the brAIn SPS combines advanced AI algorithms with state-of-the-art imaging to improve preoperative planning and implant placement in shoulder surgeries.
The brAIn SPS system offers a unique capability by integrating AI-driven imaging that provides detailed views of soft tissues, a critical factor for accurate implant positioning and long-term joint function. This technology allows surgeons to visualize in 3D detail, offering insights into the potential impact of implant positioning on soft tissues, thereby enhancing surgical planning and patient recovery.
The collaboration between Avatar Medical and FX Shoulder Solutions has resulted in a cutting-edge, AI-powered, cloud-based surgery planning solution. This system is set to replace existing planning software, aiming to revolutionize shoulder arthroplasty by providing surgeons with more precise and effective surgical strategies.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
