Basecamp Research raised $140 million in an oversubscribed Series C round led by S32, the company said in a corrected press release. Investors included NVIDIA, Menlo Ventures' Anthology Fund, Catalio Capital Management, NATO Innovation Fund, The Rockefeller Foundation, and True Ventures.

The company will use the funding to develop new EDEN biological foundation models and move its pipeline of AI designed therapeutics toward clinical development. Its first focus will be in vivo cell therapy, alongside expanded pharmaceutical partnerships.

Basecamp Research trains its AI models on proprietary biological data and uses technology that writes DNA sequences into cells. Its models are designed to create cell and gene therapies, enzymes, and peptides. Basecamp says its Trillion Gene Atlas, developed with partners including NVIDIA, Anthropic, PacBio and Ultima Genomics, holds biological data collected in more than 30 countries. The company also appointed former Biogen executive Richard Pearce as chief business officer.
