BayCare and Rovex Begin Hospital Robotics Pilot in Clearwater
BayCare Health System and Rovex have begun a pilot project at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida, to explore how robotics can support hospital operations and patient transport workflows. The collaboration was announced in a press release and marks the start of a phased program to evaluate transport patterns and operational opportunities within the hospital.
The first phase will focus on assessing how Rovex's robotic system navigates the hospital and supports logistical workflows. No patients will be transported during this stage of the pilot. Later phases may test robotic stretcher movement within the facility.
BayCare stated that the initiative aims to identify practical ways robotics can assist staff and improve workflow efficiency. The pilot will also measure how automation could reduce strain on healthcare workers while maintaining smooth patient care operations.
