BD and Opentrons Collaborate on Robotic Automation for Single-Cell Multiomics
BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) and Opentrons Labworks, Inc. have announced a multi-year collaboration to integrate robotic liquid-handling capabilities into BD's single-cell multiomics instruments. This partnership aims to automate critical experimental steps, thereby accelerating and scaling disease research and drug development announced in a press release.
The collaboration will see the integration of the BD Rhapsody™ System with the Opentrons Flex® platform, allowing scientists to perform hands-free workflows in their single-cell multiomics experiments. A key aspect of this partnership is the development of an automation-compatible module for the BD Rhapsody™ System, which will automate next-generation sequencing library preparation and cell capture.
Early access opportunities for interested labs will soon be available, with more information provided at the upcoming American Society of Human Genetics Annual Meeting in Boston from October 14-18, 2025.
