Benewake Launches NOVA20 LiDAR for Close Range Robot Safety

Oct 12, 2026
Benewake has introduced the NOVA20, a compact solid state LiDAR sensor that measures nearby obstacles and edges around robotic platforms.

Benewake introduced the NOVA20 in a press release, describing it as a solid state LiDAR sensor for close range perception around robots. The sensor covers distances from 0.05 to 1 meter through a 20 point detection array and a 40 degree field of view.

NOVA20 weighs less than 5 grams, consumes less than 1 watt of power and contains no mechanical moving components. It can operate in ambient light up to 100 klux and provides physical distance measurements without producing two dimensional images.

The sensor can be installed on robot chassis, bodies, wrists, waists, knees and ankles. Benewake lists applications including wall following, passage through narrow spaces, detection of stairs and ground edges, and slowing robots before contact with people.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
