Bill Gates Prepares Major AI Safety Push
Bill Gates is preparing to expand his AI safety work through direct outreach to business leaders and a possible major deployment of his resources, Axios reports.
Gates consulted AI executives, researchers and safety advocates, including Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic. He plans to advocate for stronger AI regulation after becoming more concerned about growing model capabilities, security incidents and limited government oversight.
The effort follows Gates' call for US AI regulation and monitoring rules. He has also proposed new regulatory institutions, taxes on AI use and robots, and reserving some jobs for humans.
