Blackboard schedules Digital Teaching Symposium for November 19

Blackboard will hold its free virtual Digital Teaching Symposium on November 19, with sessions covering AI, assessment, accessibility and digital teaching.

Blackboard announces in a press release that its 10th annual Digital Teaching Symposium will take place online on November 19, 2026. The free event will run from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET, with programming in English and Spanish.

Sessions will cover assessment in the age of AI, AI policies in schools, teaching with emerging technology, course design, digital pedagogy, accessibility and student feedback. Faculty from the University of Connecticut, University of Pretoria, Aston University and Wichita State University will discuss approaches used in their classrooms.

Blackboard cofounder and incoming CEO Matthew Pittinsky will deliver the keynote on AI in higher education and learning management systems. Phil Hill, publisher of the On EdTech blog, will lead a session about what schools restrict when they ban AI.
