Dec 16, 2025
CAE has secured a $270 million contract with the Australian government to deliver the Future Air Mission Training System for the Royal Australian Air Force. The 10-year agreement will provide advanced synthetic and airborne training at RAAF Base East Sale.

CAE has been awarded a contract worth more than $270 million CAD by the Commonwealth of Australia to deliver the Future Air Mission Training System (F-AMTS) for the Royal Australian Air Force, announced in a press release. The project falls under Project AIR5428 Phase 3 and covers an initial 10-year performance period.

The F-AMTS will be developed and delivered at RAAF Base East Sale in Victoria. It will provide a modern, integrated training environment combining advanced courseware, synthetic ground systems, and airborne training elements to simulate real-world operational complexity. The system is designed to train roles such as Air Battle Managers, Air Traffic Controllers, Maritime Patrol and Response Officers, and Electronic Warfare Officers.

CAE will collaborate with several partners, including Nova Systems, Adacel, DXC Technology, Milskil, MMCLD, Airflite, and Seeing Machines, to implement the training solution. The contract is expected to create more than 40 skilled jobs in Victoria, with the first group of students scheduled to graduate in 2028.

The agreement extends CAE’s long-term relationship with the Royal Australian Air Force, which began in 1994 and has supported multiple generations of aircrew training.
