CANAL+ and Google Cloud Form AI Partnership for Content Indexing and Creative Tools
CANAL+ and Google Cloud have announced a multi-year partnership focused on artificial intelligence, according to a press release. Beginning in June 2026, CANAL+ will implement Google Cloud’s generative AI technologies across its European and African markets.
The collaboration will use Google Cloud’s AI tools for large-scale video content indexing, creating a multimodal database that integrates sound, video, and text data. This system will support more precise content classification and enable personalized recommendations for users of the CANAL+ App based on their viewing habits.
CANAL+ will also adopt Veo3, Google’s generative AI video technology, to assist production teams with scene previsualization and historical recreations from archival material. The tools will be available to production partners working on CANAL+-supported films, offering secure environments for rights management and faster creative workflows.
The partnership extends the companies’ ongoing collaboration and aims to enhance both content discovery and creative production capabilities across CANAL+’s global operations.
