Caris Life Sciences has entered a multi-year collaboration and license agreement with Genentech to identify and validate new oncology targets in solid tumors. The agreement includes $25 million in upfront and near-term payments and up to $1.1 billion in potential milestone payments.

Caris Life Sciences has entered a multi-year collaboration and license agreement with Genentech to identify and validate novel oncology targets in solid tumors, announced in a press release.

Under the agreement, Caris will receive $25 million in upfront and near-term payments and could earn up to $1.1 billion in potential research, development, commercial, and net sales milestone payments, along with tiered royalties on future therapy sales.

Caris will leverage its repository of nearly 500,000 solid tumor samples and associated molecular and clinical data to support target discovery using both tissue-based and data-driven methods. The company’s scientists will apply integrated bioinformatics and laboratory workflows to validate prioritized targets for potential next-generation cancer therapies.

The collaboration combines Caris' multimodal data and tissue analysis capabilities with Genentech’s therapeutic development expertise to advance drug discovery for cancers with high unmet clinical needs.
