Chen Institute and AAAS Announce Winners of 2024 AI Prize
The Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) have announced the winners of the 2024 AI Prize for AI Accelerated Research, announced in a press release. This annual award celebrates transformative AI solutions in neuroscience, biochemistry, and climatology.
Dr. Zhuoran Qiao, a founding scientist at Chai Discovery, received the Grand Prize for his work in molecular biology using AI to predict protein behavior, which aids in drug discovery. Finalists include Dr. Aditya Nair, who uses AI to study neural interactions, and Dr. Alizée Roobaert, who developed an AI model for monitoring oceanic CO2 absorption.
The winners will present their research at the first annual Chen Institute Symposium for AI Accelerated Science in San Francisco on October 27-28, 2025, alongside Nobel Laureates and other leading researchers.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
