China Calls for More AI and Robotics in Manufacturing
Chinese President Xi Jinping called for sustained efforts to expand advanced manufacturing, Global Times stated in an announcement. He urged China to pursue smart, green and integrated production while making industrial and supply chains more resilient.
Industrial output from major enterprises grew 5.3% year over year during the first eight months of 2026, while high tech manufacturing rose 14.2%. In August, equipment manufacturing output increased 12.1%, high tech manufacturing grew 16.7% and industrial robot output climbed 34.6%.
Manufacturing applications include AGIBOT's Genie G2 humanoid robot, which was deployed on a tablet production line in Nanchang and recorded a reported 99% success rate. Shenzhen's Robot Valley hosts more than 200 robotics companies, including over 25 humanoid robot manufacturers, with more than 90% of key components produced domestically.
China also plans to establish 500 zero carbon factories from 2026 to 2030. By 2030, the country targets green factories at all levels to account for 45% of output from major manufacturing enterprises.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
