Chubb Names Sean Ringsted Chief Scientist

Sean Ringsted will oversee Chubb's global artificial intelligence, data and analytics strategies in the newly created role of chief scientist.

Chubb named Sean Ringsted chief scientist and executive vice president in a press release, effective immediately. Ringsted will oversee the insurer's global artificial intelligence, data and analytics strategies and initiatives.

Ringsted previously served as executive vice president and chief digital business officer, leading Chubb's global AI work and digital business unit. During more than 30 years at Chubb and its predecessor, ACE Group, he also held roles including chief risk officer, chief digital officer and chief actuary.

Ringsted holds a doctorate in biochemistry from Oxford University and a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Bristol University. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.
