Cognizant has announced an expansion of its Synapse skills initiative, setting a new goal to equip two million people worldwide with digital skills by 2030 after surpassing its initial target ahead of schedule.

Cognizant announced in a press release that it is expanding its Synapse skills initiative with a new goal of training two million people worldwide by the end of 2030. The program, launched in 2023, had already exceeded its original target of reaching one million people by 2026.

The Synapse initiative focuses on improving digital and AI-related skills across global workforces. It includes partnerships with governments, academic institutions, nonprofits, and industry leaders to provide training and development opportunities. The company also supports community education and workforce readiness programs.

As part of the expansion, Cognizant plans to grow its learning and development resources, strengthen partnerships with educational institutions, and deliver branded learning experiences for clients and nonprofit partners. The company will also increase philanthropic funding aligned with Synapse’s mission to prepare individuals and communities for a more AI-driven economy.
