The Conference Board outlines four ways AI could reshape US employment, ranging from gradual worker support to widespread job displacement.

The Conference Board released a report outlining four potential ways AI could reshape the US labor force: gradual augmentation, concentrated gains, massive displacement, and uneven disruption.

The report says AI adoption is already advancing, with about 41% of US workers and 18% of US firms reporting AI use through the end of 2025. It projects that within three years, 60% to 70% of cognitive workforce jobs could involve collaboration between humans and AI.

The report recommends that business leaders, policymakers and educators improve AI related data collection and early warning indicators, invest in worker training and education, and modernize unemployment insurance and public benefit systems.
