Croatia Plans €932 Million AI Investment Through 2032
The Croatian Government unveiled a national AI plan with €932.1 million in planned investment through 2032, according to Croatia Week. The first action plan assigns €382.1 million to 33 measures through 2028.
Croatia plans to train 7,000 citizens in AI literacy, 10,000 teachers in AI related skills and 5,000 public servants. The initial phase also allocates €139 million to computing and data infrastructure.
The plan includes a large language model for Croatian and AI tools for public services. Proposed services include an AI assistant for the national digital services portal and tools to support judicial officials.
The government says AI tools must respect personal data, security, accountability and citizens' rights, while people retain responsibility for decisions. A public consultation on the national plan and action plan will remain open for 30 days.
