Cyngn Secures 22nd U.S. Patent for Cloud-Based Autonomous Vehicle Technology
Cyngn Inc. has secured its 22nd U.S. patent for its AI-powered autonomous vehicle technologies, announced in a press release. The patent, titled 'System and Methods of Off-Board Centric Autonomous Driving Computation,' introduces a cloud-based approach to autonomous vehicle operations. This system distributes computing tasks between the vehicle and the cloud, significantly reducing the need for onboard hardware.
The patented technology allows vehicles to transmit sensor data to cloud servers, where complex tasks such as environment mapping, decision-making, and route planning are processed. The cloud then sends back driving commands to the vehicle, enabling it to focus on safety-critical and time-sensitive functions. This innovation not only makes autonomous vehicles lighter and more cost-effective but also enhances their driving algorithms.
Additionally, the patent includes fleet management capabilities, allowing for the seamless coordination of multiple autonomous vehicles through a centralized cloud infrastructure. This development marks a significant milestone in Cyngn's intellectual property strategy, further strengthening its position in the autonomous vehicle industry.
