Debut Launches AI Designed Ingredient for Hyperpigmentation
Debut launched DermCeutical PNar™, a biotech skin care ingredient intended to reduce hyperpigmentation and brighten skin, the company said in a press release. Debut developed the ingredient using its AI, skin genomics, and biotechnology platform.
PNar targets biological causes of hyperpigmentation and blocks enzymes including tyrosinase to reduce melanin production. It is designed for use at a concentration of 0.45%, compared with the European Union maximum of 1% for kojic acid in face and hand products.
In a 12 week clinical study, 97% of users showed improvement in hyperpigmentation and 88% showed improvement in skin brightening. The ingredient is designed for all skin tones and is available to brand partners through Debut's United States formulation business.
