Disney Names Former Character.ai CEO as Its First CTO
Disney named Karandeep Anand, former CEO of Character.ai, as its first chief technology officer, effective Oct. 2, according to Variety. The newly created position reports directly to CEO Josh D’Amaro.
Anand will oversee Disney’s enterprise technology, infrastructure, data and AI platforms, product and engineering. Disney also expects a number of Character.ai technical employees to join the company.
Anand became Character.ai CEO in 2025 after serving as a board adviser. Disney later sent the company a cease and desist letter over Disney characters on its platform, and Character.ai removed those characters following the request. Anand previously held leadership positions at Meta, Brex and Microsoft, where he worked on the Azure cloud platform.

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
