DrugBank Appoints Lisa Downey as CEO, Co-Founder Mike Wilson Moves to Chief Product Role
DrugBank has announced a leadership transition as it advances its AI-driven biomedical intelligence initiatives, according to a press release. Effective October 6, Lisa Downey has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, while Co-Founder Mike Wilson moves from CEO to Chief Product Officer.
Downey brings nearly two decades of experience in healthcare, life sciences, and data transformation, having previously held leadership roles at Clarivate and GlobalData. In her new role, she will oversee DrugBank’s next phase of AI-powered innovation and global growth.
As Chief Product Officer, Wilson will lead the development of DrugBank’s platform, expanding its use of machine learning and predictive modeling to enhance biomedical data accessibility for scientists and developers.
The leadership changes coincide with DrugBank’s upcoming twentieth anniversary in January, marking its evolution from a University of Alberta research project to a global biomedical intelligence platform serving clients across the pharmaceutical, biotech, academic, and healthcare sectors.
