Eagle Hill Survey Finds Workplace Culture Lags AI Adoption
Eagle Hill Consulting said in a press release that AI adoption is moving faster than changes to workplace culture and work design. Its survey found that companies use AI for business operations (73%), decision support and analytics (72%), and employee productivity and knowledge work (71%).
Respondents reported gains in employee productivity (66%), operational efficiency (59%), work quality (55%), and customer experience (53%). They also said AI increased opportunities for employees to build expertise (89%), focus on high value work (88%), and perform creative or intellectually engaging work (87%). Fifty eight percent reported lower employee burnout.
However, 84% identified at least one cultural barrier. These included employee reluctance to change established practices (30%), governance processes that slow experimentation (27%), and short term priorities displacing AI experimentation (26%). Only 18% cited work redesign as a major contributor to AI success, while 9% cited culture.
The survey found that 45% of organizations continuously review and improve work as AI changes, while 47% systematically identify AI opportunities across the business. Only 31% include employee AI development in broader business and workforce planning. Ipsos surveyed 306 directors and more senior leaders at US companies with at least $100 million in annual revenue and established AI adoption from August 3 to 6, 2026.
