Edgescan Launches Atomic for Autonomous Penetration Testing

Oct 7, 2026
Edgescan Atomic uses agentic AI to run penetration tests on demand. A control system enforces testing scope, permissions, approvals and policies.

Edgescan introduced Atomic in a press release, an autonomous penetration testing capability that uses agentic AI. It can run on the company's continuous security platform or operate as an independent testing solution.

Atomic can use historical scans, previous penetration testing results, validated vulnerabilities, asset context, authentication workflows and API information. It tests for issues including insecure direct object references, authorization weaknesses and broken access controls, then provides evidence for validated findings.

The Edgescan Harness limits the system according to defined scope, permissions, approvals and policies. It also logs the AI system's actions for review. Security teams can request validation by Edgescan's agentic validation team and human experts when needed.
