Elsevier Adds LG AI Vision Technology to Reaxys
Elsevier and LG AI Research announced in a press release that LG's chemistry focused AI vision technology is being integrated into content extraction and curation for Reaxys. The system identifies substances, chemical structures, and reaction information that appear only in images, drawings, and reaction schemes within patents and scientific literature.
The technology combines molecule detection, reaction diagram parsing, and optical chemical structure recognition in one model. Elsevier says its extraction pipelines were validated against Reaxys benchmarks and tested across its data and workflow tools.
The technology is intended to support novelty searches, competitive intelligence, synthesis planning, and research involving inorganic and organometallic structures. The companies identify reaction extraction as the next stage of the collaboration.
