EmpiRx Health Launches Infusion Therapy Management Solution to Cut Costs

EmpiRx Health has introduced an Infusion Therapy Management solution designed to lower costs by moving infusion therapies from medical to pharmacy benefits and enhancing clinical oversight through its Medication Optimization model.

EmpiRx Health has launched a new Infusion Therapy Management solution to help employers reduce costs and improve oversight of high-cost infusion treatments, announced in a press release.

The program shifts infusion therapies from being covered under medical benefits to pharmacy benefits, a move that increases pricing transparency and rebate opportunities. EmpiRx Health stated that this change can deliver more than 10% in savings for benefit plan sponsors while improving access to copay assistance.

The solution incorporates 24/7 care management and direct engagement with prescribing physicians to ensure appropriate drug selection, dosing, and cost. It also integrates the company’s Medication Optimization (MO) model, which uses AI-powered tools and pharmacist oversight to align treatment plans with clinical and financial goals.

According to the company, clients using the MO model have seen an average 15% reduction in drug spending within the first year, with continued optimization producing further savings over time.
