Epic Games Reportedly Orders AI-First Development for Disney Shooter

Developers on Epic Games' delayed Disney shooter were reportedly told to use Anthropic's Claude models and stop writing code by hand, Kotaku reports, citing Bloomberg.

Developers on an unannounced Epic Games shooter featuring Disney's Marvel and Star Wars characters were reportedly told to adopt an "AI-first" production model using Anthropic's Claude models, Kotaku reports, citing Bloomberg. According to the report, the team is not to use any more "hand-written code," and the game's director told developers that all art should be "generated with full AI workflows."

"We're embracing AI-accelerated development, led by Epic developers who are the visionaries and creative drivers for everything we do," Epic Games communications director Jake Jones said in a statement. According to Bloomberg, many developers on the project responded to the new policies with confusion and shock.

Bloomberg reports the game was supposed to release in March 2027 and has been delayed due to slow progress and understaffed teams. Disney invested $1.5 billion in Epic in 2024 for collaborations that include the project.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
