Eswatini Standards Authority and AICE Africa Launch AI Safety Center
Eswatini Standards Authority and AICE Africa launched an AI Safety and Standards Center of Excellence in Eswatini, according to Realnews Magazine. The center will develop AI governance skills, assessment methods and testing capabilities for African institutions.
Its work will proceed through four stages covering internal transformation, practitioner training, industry services and regional cooperation. Planned certification services will use validated methods, trained personnel and arrangements for accreditation and impartiality.
Eswatini Standards Authority will also develop EswasaOne, an AI platform connecting standards information with certification, inspection and management workflows. Plans include a conversational interface, workflow automation and a governance framework covering responsibilities, data and responsible use.
A proposed research and testing laboratory will assess AI systems under local conditions, including African languages, data and infrastructure. The center also plans shared assessment methods, benchmarking resources and an African AI Standards Baseline Report.
