Exactech Showcases AI and Radiomics Research at ORS 2025
Exactech, a leader in medical technology, presented 15 new studies at the 2025 Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, announced in a press release. These studies focused on advancements in total joint arthroplasty and trauma solutions, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) for image segmentation, predictive modeling, and CT image-based radiomic analysis.
One notable study utilized ML to analyze pre-operative CT scan data of the deltoid muscle, identifying stable radiomic features that predict shoulder motion before and after arthroplasty. This research offers a quantitative method for assessing the deltoid, which could enhance pre-operative planning and clinical decision support tools.
Additionally, Exactech's research confirmed the superior oxidation resistance and mechanical durability of their Activit-E® polyethylene compared to conventional ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene. This material, designed to enhance implant longevity, outperformed in knee wear testing and simulated aging conditions.
The company also explored a novel 3D classification of total knee arthroplasty patients using unsupervised ML clustering models, applicable to their Newton® Knee balancing technology.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
