Exactech Launches Predict+ for Shoulder Surgery Outcome Predictions
Exactech has launched the next generation of Predict+, a machine learning tool designed to predict outcomes in shoulder replacement surgery, announced in a press release. This tool, now available in Europe and Australia, integrates with the latest version of the Shoulder Planning App, offering features like osteophyte removal tools and automated joint measurements.
Predict+ enhances clinical decision-making by incorporating patient-specific data, such as joint measurements and implant details, directly from the app. This integration aims to streamline the process and reduce manual inputs, allowing for more personalized outcome predictions.
The tool was initially developed in 2020 to help surgeons predict patient improvements post-surgery. The latest version further advances preoperative consultations by integrating additional patient-specific inputs, improving the personalization of predicted outcomes. Exactech's Vice President of Machine Learning, Vikas Kumar, highlighted the importance of combining clinical and image data to enhance the quality of outcome predictions over time.
