Exia Labs Expands Keystone AI System to U.S. Navy via DIU Challenge
Exia Labs has been selected by the Defense Innovation Unit for the Blue Object Management Challenge, announced in a press release. The challenge was developed in collaboration with the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Chief Data Officer and J32 Fires Division to support the Department of War’s Applied Artificial Intelligence initiatives.
Exia’s Keystone system, originally built for the U.S. Army, processes reports from multiple sources to create a unified, real-time data layer for mission systems such as Maven Smart System and Lattice. It uses AI to reconcile duplicate or inconsistent information and assign confidence levels to identified entities.
As part of the new challenge, Exia is adapting Keystone for the U.S. Navy’s maritime domain. The company enlisted retired Rear Admiral Douglas Small, former commander of the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command, to provide product feedback on the system’s naval integration.
The selection follows a recent demonstration of Keystone’s integration with an unclassified Maven Smart System environment at NATO Headquarters, supporting broader U.S. defense efforts to enhance AI-enabled operational awareness across domains.
