Federal CISO Council Plans Governmentwide AI Cyberattack Exercise
The Federal CISO Council will hold a governmentwide tabletop exercise in early November focused on AI enabled cyberattacks, according to Federal News Network. Federal chief information security officers and security operations center directors will participate.
The exercise will test whether agencies have the people, processes and technical capabilities needed to coordinate their response to a cyber incident. It follows the council's first governmentwide exercise last year, which covered general cybersecurity readiness and resilience.
The council has also revived its AI working group on security governance. The group is developing repeatable frameworks for using AI in security decisions while maintaining human oversight and managing risk.
