Firecrawl Seeks AI Agents with $1 Million Budget

May 19, 2025
Y Combinator-backed startup Firecrawl is offering $1 million to hire AI agents for roles in content creation, customer support, and development.

Y Combinator-backed startup Firecrawl is once again on the lookout for AI agents to join its team, with a budget of $1 million set aside for this initiative. This follows their previous attempt in February, which did not result in a successful hire. The company has posted three new job ads specifically targeting AI agents, offering roles in content creation, customer support, and development.

The content creation agent is expected to autonomously produce high-quality SEO content and improve audience engagement, with a monthly pay of $5,000. Similarly, the customer support engineer agent will handle customer issues autonomously, escalating to human support when necessary, also for $5,000 per month. The third role is for a junior developer agent, tasked with managing GitHub issues and writing code in TypeScript and Go, with the same monthly compensation.

Firecrawl is also open to hiring the human creators behind these AI agents, either full-time or as contractors, and is considering bids from startups specializing in AI agent development. Despite the ambitious search, founder Caleb Peffer acknowledges that the ideal AI employee may not yet exist, but the company is committed to working with individuals interested in operating and managing AI systems.
