G42 Introduces Digital Embassies and Greenshield for Portable AI Sovereignty
G42 has launched its Digital Embassies framework and Greenshield operating model to help governments deploy artificial intelligence securely and at scale while retaining full legal authority and control over their data, systems, and policies, announced in a press release.
The Digital Embassies and Greenshield model enables nations to use AI infrastructure hosted across borders without compromising jurisdiction or sovereignty. The approach treats sovereignty as a portable attribute that travels with digital workloads, similar to how diplomatic missions operate under their home nation's legal authority.
According to the announcement, the initiative aims to address the gap between governments' AI ambitions and their infrastructure readiness. It allows immediate AI deployment across sectors such as public services, national security, healthcare, and energy without locking into fixed infrastructure decisions.
H.E. Omran Sharaf, Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, said the framework allows governments of any size to operationalize digital and AI strategies with full sovereign control from the outset.
