Google will cover new power resources and grid upgrades for its expanded West Memphis data center campus. Entergy Arkansas projects at least $500 million in additional customer savings over 20 years.

Entergy Arkansas announced a second phase of power service for Google's West Memphis data center campus, in a press release. The utility expects the expansion to bring at least $500 million in additional customer savings from 2028 over 20 years.

Google will cover about $600 million in planned investment and a power purchase agreement. The plan includes battery storage systems of 1,000 and 400 megawatt hours expected online in 2028, a 440 megawatt solar power purchase agreement, an expanded substation near West Memphis and two new 230 kilovolt transmission lines.

Entergy Arkansas says the original and expanded agreements will return more than $2.1 billion in benefits to its 738,000 customers. The expansion will be submitted to the Arkansas Public Service Commission for approval.
