Google Invests €5 Billion in Belgium for AI Infrastructure
Google is investing €5 billion in Belgium over the next two years to enhance its AI and cloud infrastructure. This investment will expand data center campuses in Saint-Ghislain and create 300 full-time jobs. Additionally, Google has entered into agreements with Eneco, Luminus, and Renner to support the development of new onshore wind farms, contributing to the grid with clean energy.
Beyond infrastructure, Google is committed to equipping Belgians with AI skills at no cost. The company plans to fund non-profits to provide free, practical AI training for low-skilled workers, aiming to foster economic opportunities and maintain Belgium's leadership in technology and AI.
