Google Labs Launches Playground for AI Game Creation
Google Labs launched Playground, an experimental platform that creates browser games from text prompts, TechCrunch reports. Users can select a genre, choose 2D or 3D graphics, and create single player or multiplayer games without writing code.
Creators can describe mechanics, gameplay, and visual styles, or upload images that the platform converts into game assets. Games work on mobile devices and computers, and creators can keep projects private, share them through links, or publish them in an Explore gallery with features such as leaderboards.
Playground is initially available to people aged 18 and older in the U.S. Browsing and playing games is free, while game generation uses weekly tokens. Free accounts receive a limited allocation, and Google One AI subscribers receive higher limits.
Google plans to expand Playground to more countries and add Unity Spark integration, which will provide additional 3D tools and game mechanics.
