GrubMarket has acquired Houston-based Schoenmann Produce, a century-old regional distributor serving customers across Texas and Louisiana. The acquisition will integrate Schoenmann’s operations with GrubMarket’s AI-powered software and logistics systems.

GrubMarket announced in a press release that it has completed the acquisition of Schoenmann Produce, a major produce distributor based in Houston, Texas. Founded in 1910, Schoenmann Produce serves foodservice, retail, wholesale, healthcare, education, and maritime customers across the Gulf Coast region.

Schoenmann Produce operates a 90,000-square-foot facility near Houston’s Hobby Airport, with 75,000 square feet of cold storage, dedicated ripening rooms, and a refrigerated truck fleet. The company sources a wide range of fresh produce, including Texas-grown products, and has earned a Primus food safety score of 100.

As part of GrubMarket, Schoenmann Produce will gain access to several AI-powered tools, including WholesaleWare, an ERP platform for financial and inventory management; GrubAssist AI, a suite of enterprise AI assistants; Orders IO, a mobile and online ordering solution; and GrubPay, a digital payments system for the food supply chain.

GrubMarket CEO Mike Xu said the acquisition strengthens the company’s presence in Texas and the Gulf Coast, aligning with its goal to expand operations in key U.S. produce markets.
