HCLTech Study Finds 7% of Wealth Firms Building Agentic AI
HCLTech released a synthetic research report based on 1,066 AI personas modeled on senior wealth management decision makers across 17 markets. The study found that 98% of leadership teams are pursuing an AI agenda, while slightly more than 7% are actively building agentic AI capabilities.
The report found that 84% of wealth management firms believe their operating models need a fundamental redesign to realize the potential of AI. It identified three gaps: firms focus AI funding on efficiency, technology spending is not matched by investment in proprietary client data, and adoption metrics do not measure effects on growth, revenue or clients.
The synthetic respondents ranked first party and behavioral data above technology infrastructure, cloud platforms and AI partnerships as differentiators. Confidence in AI readiness reached 89% in Asia Pacific and 84% in North America, compared with 38.3% in Europe. HCLTech conducted the study with Evidenza, using AI personas alongside human input for research design and validation.
