Heidi Secures $65 Million to Expand AI Healthcare Tool
Heidi, a Melbourne-based AI startup, has raised $65 million in a Series B funding round led by Point72 Private Investments, boosting its valuation to $465 million, according to Bloomberg. The funding round also saw participation from existing investors such as Blackbird Ventures, Headline, and Latitude.
Heidi's AI technology is designed to assist clinicians by automating administrative tasks like clinical documentation, evidence searches, and follow-up communications. This innovation aims to alleviate the administrative burden on healthcare professionals, allowing them to focus more on patient care. The platform has already been used in over 73 million patient consultations globally, supporting more than two million consults weekly across 110 languages.
The newly acquired funds will be used to expand Heidi's team and establish additional offices in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. The company also plans to enhance its presence in markets such as Singapore and Hong Kong. With this expansion, Heidi expects its headcount to double within the next year.
Heidi's platform is currently utilized by clinicians in various countries, including Australia, where it is integrated into public health systems like Monash Health and Queensland Health Children's Hospital. The company is also involved in significant deployments in the UK, such as with the Modality Partnership and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
