Hikvision Details Guanlan AI Uses for Video Security

September 08, 2026
Hikvision says its Guanlan AI models improve video detection, reduce storage needs and support natural language search and system controls.

Hikvision detailed new applications for its Guanlan large scale AI models across video security systems in a press release. The company says DeepinViewX cameras can reduce false alarms by 90%, detect targets at twice the range of traditional cameras and cut repeated alarms for the same target by half.

The models also analyze video for safety and compliance issues, including missing protective equipment, falls, smoking, forklifts, fire, smoke, animals and prohibited items. Hikvision reports false alarm reductions of 70% to 90% for these uses.

Guanlan Encoding compresses static backgrounds while retaining detail around people, vehicles and other relevant objects. Hikvision says this reduces average video storage requirements by 30% to 50%. AcuSeek lets operators search recorded video with written descriptions and returns results within seconds.

The HIKO AI agent supports conversational controls through HikCentral Professional and the Hik-Connect app. It can set visitor access, retrieve attendance reports, configure alerts, summarize alarms and search video, door records and automatic number plate recognition data to trace a person's movements.
